3-Day Sale for 625 345 Tahitian Pearls at auction

From March 18 to 20, the sale proceeds of Tahitian pearls, organized by GIE Poe o Rikitea which are involved three other GIE: Poe o Tahiti Nui, No Raromatai, Pearl of Manihi and the Union of small and medium producers.

It’s their third international auction (the first of the year, the next will be in August), in partneship with “La Maison de la Perle”.

625 345 beads, or one tonne, whose value is estimated at 600 million Fcfp from 10 islands will be presented to 50 companies worldwide including Japan (The biggest buyer and responsabe for at least 50 percent of sales), Asia, U.S.A and New Zealand.

According to the GIE, their goal is to achieve a turnover of 400 million Fcfp, with about 35% of unsold lots.
