Following a move to California in her late teens, Leseine relocated briefly to French Polynesia in 2003; meeting pearl farmers and studying the cultured pearl industry. In 2004, she founded Tahitian Designs, selling distinctive carved black Tahitian pearls.

Leseine commissioned a Tahitian master-artisan who had been carving oysters for 30 years to carve traditional Polynesian motifs onto Tahitian pearls. “I wanted to take pearls that were not round and yet show how beautiful they could become with designs representing the soul of the culture; like strength, wisdom, peace, and protection.” Since then, thousands of the dramatic pearls have turned up in original creations by jewelry designers around the world captivated by their allure.

A guide to wearing Tahitian Pearls

So, you have a gorgeously classy bracelet or necklace, filled with stunning Tahitian Pearls, but how can you get the most out of owning such a beautiful piece of jewellery? The good thing about them is that they can be worn on many different occasions, which means that you can wear them as often as possible. If you are heading out to a fancy dinner then they are the perfect accompaniment to an elegant skirt and blouse combination. You could wear your hair up to really show off the necklace from every angle, as well as adding a fantastic touch of class to your look.

If you are heading out to a party for the evening, Tahitian Pearls are the ideal item to compliment beautiful evening dresses, diamond engagement rings and elegant shoes. You could wear your hair down so that the pearls on your necklace sparkle from beneath or up so that your pearl earrings are on display. The great thing about Tahitian Pearls in particular is that they are fantastically elegant while remaining understated. They are not too flashy and extravagant, but rather they sparkle with a delicate grace that will subtly enhance everything else that you are wearing.

Even if you are having a relaxing lunch with friends, this is still a perfect time to wear these pearls. Whether in a necklace, bracelet, earrings or ring, you will find that you feel very glamorous when you put them on as you can see how classy they are just by looking at them. If want to purchase some jewellery that incorporates Tahitian Pearls and would like some more information about them, then you have come to the right place. Have a look around our site to find out more and then you can decide which pieces would suit you best.
