Tahitian pearls are measured by the shortest diameter in millimeters.
For round pearls, sieves are used to sort pearls by their sizes. Round pearls range from 8mm to 15mm. Some rare pearls reach 16mm and 18mm. The biggest pearl to date is a round pearl that was 21mm. Tahitian pearls are wider than Akoya pearls.
For Tahitian pearl necklaces, 12-14mm will be nice. Below this diameter size, you must try it on yourself to see if you like it. So when shopping online, look for the size of pearls you desire, and make sure that the picture you see is the same as the item for sale.

For rings, bracelets, and earrings from 7mm to 12mm.
For pendants and necklaces from 11mm to 15mm+
