From August 29 to September 9, 2011, the SIPOF the (Union of Industrial FP) two unions pearl producers sitting in the institution show a Pearl exhibition located in the CESC building.
This union is one of the oldest and founded by Robert Wan that remains as President.
Open to the public and schools, this exhibition will explore the pedagogical history of the black pearl, history of the pearl, the birth mother of pearl, pearl farming, preservation of the environment, as well as transplantation, culture and harvest.
Visiting the exhibition wasn’t worth it, there are only a few amounts of info with some big posters (texts and photos) but no one here to guide, explain…. nobody was there! Tourists won’t come for sure. Furthermore, there is no activities, live demonstration, brochures or real Tahitian pearls showed at the exhibition, looks like a high school expo about what they’ve learned. Better stay on Tahitian-Pearls.com or visit the pearl museum to learn more about Tahitian pearls.
The location of the pearl exhibition is so far away from any popular places that I guess nobody will go there.
Too bad, could be a great Tahitian pearl exhibition.
