Recently, pearl farmers and members of French Polynesia government have visited the island of Ahe located in the Tuamotu islands. They then have a meeting to discuss about the Tahitian pearl future. The main subject was the pearl crisis.
Pearl Farm owners said that the cost of nucleus and other tools for productivity have risen but the pearl market price had not changed while the economy crisis is there. They need a solution like upgrading prices of Tahitian pearls.
The minister of the Tahitian pearl and fishing promise to seek for a solution but priority will still be the quality control for Tahitian pearls.
